About Inning Played

Innings played is the number of innings in which a defensive player is on the field in a defensive position. For a team it's the total number of innings played by its defensive players. Innings played is calculated by taking played outs over a given time frame and dividing by 3, meaning that players can play one third (.33), two thirds (.67), or full innings (1.0). Generally, for Inning Played, higher is better. (Source)
