About Putouts

Putouts are awarded to defensive players who meet one of several criteria when an out is recorded by their team. These criteria include tagging a runner out, catching a batted or thrown ball and tagging a base for an out, catching a fly ball, catching a third strike, or being the closest player to a runner called out for interference. Generally, for Putouts, higher is better. (Source)
