About Component ERA

Compontent earned run average is a metric that attempts to forcast the number of earned runs a player or team's players give up on average for nine innings. It looks at a pitchers statistics and forcasts what their ERA should be given the player's pitching statistics. Generally, for Component ERA, lower is better. (Source)
