About Gross Production Average (GPA)

Gross Production Average (GPA) is another attempt to quantify a player's hitting power and ability to get on base. The calucation is very similar to that of On Base Plus Slugging but weights slugging percentage higher and attempts to make the result more understandable similar to batting average. Generally, for Gross Production Average (GPA), higher is better. (Source)
